"The compositional designs underpinning these two paintings were originally developed as digital artworks for an art auction in Queenstown, New Zealand. Queenstown is the tourist capital of New Zealand and famous for its ski fields and scenic beauty, popularised in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings Trilogy. So I created a pair of works featuring ski racers. The reflection in the googles is actually the skyline of ‘The Remarkables’, an iconic mountain range and home to a popular ski field in the region. Because of the helmets, many people have looked at these works and associated them with Daft Punk. You’ll find many a daft punk on slopes so there's some good synergy there." --Tim Christie
