Babs, born in Paris in 1975, discovered graffiti at the age of 11. Self-taught, in 1986 he began by tagging the streets of his city Vitry-sur-Seine and neighboring towns in the southern suburbs. He collectively painted his first walls in the early 90's with the 3HC crew. Seduced by the most transgressive form of graffiti "the Vandal" in 1992, he painted his first subways, trains and RER in the capital with the DSP. He has created hundreds of works under twenty pseudonyms for more than fifteen years, and works in one of the most radical branches of the Parisian environment within the UV and TPK groups.
BABS has collaborated with Seth (Julien Malland), Dem189, Lek and Sowat and has painted murals under the Great Verrière and at the Palais de Tokyo. Today, he reveals another facet of his personality through his instinctive painting on canvas where acrylic and aerosol paint communicate. His work focuses on abstraction, movement and energy. Inspired by the cubist and minimalist currents, his paintings are full of history and emotion.
